Big announcement by Delhi Capitals; Rishabh Pant will be the captain in IPL 2024

New Delhi : Rishabh Pant is appointed as captain of Delhi Capitals for the upcoming phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. Wicketkeeper batsman Pant was away from cricket for 14 months after he met with a horrific car accident in December 2022.

“We are delighted to welcome Rishabh as our captain,” Delhi Capitals Chairman and Co-Owner Parth Jindal said in a media release. Patience and fearlessness have always been important in his cricket. We look forward to the new season with renewed vigor and enthusiasm and I can’t wait to see him lead our team on the field once again. ,

Earlier, BCCI (Indian Cricket Board) had approved Pant to play as a wicketkeeper batsman in this year’s IPL.

“After undergoing a 14-month rehabilitation process following a road accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand on December 30, 2022, Rishabh Pant has now been declared fit for the upcoming IPL 2024 as a wicketkeeper-batsman,” the board said in a medical update.
