New Delhi: New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry seems unlikely to play in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. Henry was injured in the semi-final match against South Africa.

Kiwi head coach Gary Stead said on Friday that Henry’s fitness remains in doubt even about 48 hours before the final. The final match of the tournament will be played between India and New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday.

Henry is still in pain – Stead

Stead said, I think the positive thing for us is that he came out to bowl again. He has had some scans and we want to give him every possible chance to play the final. However, at this time his condition is still a bit uncertain.

He further said, he is still in pain due to falling on his shoulder. Hopefully he will recover.

Henry’s shoulder injury

Henry suffered a shoulder injury during the semi-final match played between South Africa and New Zealand. While fielding, he ran towards long on and dived to catch Heinrich Klaasen in the 29th over. He caught the catch but got injured. After this, he also went out of the field for some time. However, he bowled two overs in the last overs of the match. After returning to the field after the injury, he was also seen diving.
