Over 10,000 participants expected in Inaugural Indian Navy Half Marathon

New Delhi: The Indian Navy is gearing up for the inaugural Indian Navy Half Marathon (INHM), slated for February 2 in the capital, with expectations of over 10,000 participants across three distinct race categories.

The marathon will feature 21.1 km, 10 km, and 5 km runs, making it accessible to runners of various skills and backgrounds. Organizers are working hard to ensure a memorable experience for all competitors. The event will take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with the route passing by iconic locations such as India Gate and the historic Kartavya Path. The race will be officially opened by Shri Mansukh L Mandaviya, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.

“With this first edition, the Indian Navy emphasizes its commitment to promoting health, resilience, and camaraderie. We are excited for the race on February 2 and are ready to welcome all participants to this remarkable event in New Delhi,” stated an official communication.

The marathon will also be attended by senior military officers, distinguished civilians, and prominent sportspersons.

Additionally, the INHM is part of The Indian Navy Slam, which rewards those who complete all four Navy-organized races held in Kochi, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, and New Delhi. This honor symbolizes the discipline and determination associated with the Indian Navy while celebrating the endurance of the runners.

Local authorities, including the Delhi Police and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), are instrumental in ensuring the event’s success.

This initiative aims to promote fitness, discipline, and national pride, promising an inspiring atmosphere with a stunning race route and the support of esteemed partners.
