Indian captain Rohit Sharma is struggling with form. Rohit, who is playing in the Ranji Trophy after 10 years, was dismissed after scoring 3 runs off 19 balls against Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from him, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who came to open with him, could not do anything special. He was LBW by fast bowler Aaqib Nabi Dar. Yashasvi scored 4 runs with the help of a four in 8 balls.

Shubman Gill, who plays at number three in Tests for India, is playing in this Ranji Trophy. The Punjab team came on the field under his captaincy. Gill was out after scoring just 4 runs against Karnataka. Karnataka bowler Abhilash Shetty dismissed him. His innings of 8 balls included a four. At the same time, Punjab was reduced to only 55 runs against Karnataka.

After Rohit, Gill, and Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant also disappointed on the first day of the sixth round of the Ranji Trophy. Pant could score only 1 run off 10.

Maharashtra will face Baroda on Thursday in the Ranji Trophy 2025. Maharashtra is captained by Rituraj Gaikwad in this match. The team’s regular captain Ankit Bawne has been suspended for one match. The team was informed about this before the match against Baroda. During the match against Services in the fifth round, Bawne was given caught out at slip off left-arm spinner Amit Shukla. However, replays clearly showed that the ball had bounced on the ground before Shubham Rohilla took the catch. Since the match was only being live-streamed and not broadcast on television, the DRS option was not available.

Bawne refused to leave the field after being given out, due to which the game was halted for 15 minutes. The game resumed after the intervention of match referee Amit Sharma and Maharashtra coach Sulakshan Kulkarni. However, Bawne’s behavior was considered as dissent and action were taken against him and he was suspended for one match.
