South Africa beat Bangladesh in Mirpur test by 7 wickets, jump to 4th in WTC standings

Dhaka: South Africa defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the Mirpur Test. The team achieved the target of 106 runs on the fourth day of the match on Thursday for 3 wickets in the first session. Bangladesh was all out for 307 runs in the second innings.

Winning the toss and batting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Bangladesh was all out for 106 runs. Then South Africa scored 308 runs and took a lead of 202 runs. Kyle Verreyne was the player of the match. He scored 114 runs in the first innings. Kagiso Rabada took a total of 9 wickets in the match.

Bangladesh gave a target of 106 runs to South Africa. The team started playing ahead of 283 runs on the fourth day of the match and was all out for 307 runs. Mehdi Hasan Miraz played an innings of 97 runs. Zakir Hasan scored 58 runs. On Thursday, Kagiso Rabada took 6 wickets for South Africa while Keshav Maharaj got 3 wickets.

The Proteas improved their point percentage to 47.62 with the victory, which helped them jump over New Zealand and England and take fourth place on the standings.

Bangladesh’s loss sees their point-percentage drop to 30.56 and they continue to languish in seventh place with India and Australia still remaining in the top two spots on the standings.
