Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav will play for Mumbai in the quarter-final match of Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Apart from him, Shivam Dubey will also be seen playing. Both the players have been included in Mumbai’s 18-member squad for the quarter-final match. Both have played one match each in this season of the tournament.
42-time champion Mumbai will face Haryana in the quarter-finals. The match will be played from February 8 at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Lahli. At the same time, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant also played Ranji Trophy this season.
Mumbai entered the quarter-finals of the Ranji Trophy by defeating Meghalaya by an innings and 456 runs. Jammu and Kashmir is the second team to make it to the knockouts from Group-A along with Mumbai.
Surya was part of the team for the match against Maharashtra in October in the first leg of Ranji. In the match against Maharashtra, Surya could score only 7 runs in the first innings, and did not bat in the second innings. At the same time, Dubey was a part of the match played against Jammu and Kashmir. India’s Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal were also included in this match. The Mumbai team lost this match.
Suryakumar is struggling with poor form. He scored 28 runs at an average of 5.60 in five matches of the recently concluded series against England. Suryakumar could not even open his account in two matches during this period. However, under his captaincy, the team won the T20 series 4-1.
