Tried my best…: Mirabai Chanu breaks down after missing bronze medal, finishes 4th

Paris: Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu failed to win a medal at the Paris Olympics. She finished fourth in the 49 kg category of weightlifting. The Indian Olympic Association released a video after the event. In which Mirabai said that I tried my best, but the medal slipped out of my hands. Next time I will work harder.

Tokyo silver medalist Mirabai lifted a total of 199 kg at the South Paris Arena and finished fourth. China’s Hu Jihui won gold with an Olympic record by lifting 206 kg. Romania’s Mihaela Valentina (205 kg) won silver and Thailand’s Khambao Sulochana won bronze by lifting 200 kg.

Here, in steeplechase, Avinash completed the race in 8:14.18 minutes and finished 11th. Morocco’s El Bakali Sofiene won gold with a timing of 8:06.05. America’s Kenneth Rooks (8:06.41 minutes) got silver and Ibrahim Kiviwot (8:06.47 minutes) got bronze.

Apart from this, India’s Praveen Chitravel and Abdullah Narangolintevda could not reach the final in the triple jump event of athletics. Indian women’s table tennis team lost in the quarter-finals and wrestler Anant Panghal lost in the pre-quarter-finals.
