Varindavan, May 13: Virat Kohli reached Vrindavan in Mathura the day after retiring from Test cricket. On Tuesday morning, he bowed down to Premanand Maharaj at Kelly Kunj Ashram and took his blessings. His wife Anushka Sharma was also with him.
Maharaj asked Virat and Anushka- are you happy? Virat smiled and said- yes. Both of them had a private conversation with Maharaj for about 7 minutes. Maharaj blessed them- go, be very happy, keep chanting the Radha name.
On this Anushka asked- Baba, will everything be accomplished by chanting the name? Maharaj said- Yes, everything will be accomplished. If you chant Radha-Radha, then you will attain God in this very birth. There is no doubt in this and there is no need for any means. Look, understand what we are saying. We should not try to chant too many names. The number may be less, but chant with full concentration. Make it your life. Then you will see the result yourself.
Premanand Maharaj told Virat-Anushka about the rules of the Lord
Premanand Maharaj said- We are telling you a little rule of our Lord. Getting this wealth is not a blessing. This is virtue. Increasing fame is not considered as God’s blessing. God’s blessing is to change the inner thinking. By this, the sanskars of your infinite births get destroyed and the next birth becomes very good.
When God showers His blessings, He gives us the company of saints. Then when He showers His blessings for the second time, He gives adversity and then shows us a way from within. This is my path. This is the path of ultimate peace. This is not the path of peace. God gives that path and calls the soul to Himself. Without adversity, the attachment to the world cannot be destroyed. If anybody becomes a recluse, then he becomes a recluse after seeing the adversities of the world. If everything is in our favour, then we enjoy it happily. When adversity comes upon us, then we get hurt that such a false world… at such times God shows us a way from within.
Virat-Anushka stayed in the ashram for 2 hours and 20 minutes
Virat and Anushka reached the ashram in an Innova car at 7.20 am. They left from there at 9.40 am. They stayed in the ashram for 2 hours 20 minutes. Virat and Anushka were sitting in the car wearing masks.
Virat and Anushka returned about half an hour after Premanand Maharaj left the ashram. During this time, both of them saw and understood the work of the ashram. This was Virat Kohli’s third visit to Vrindavan.
Earlier, he had come to Vrindavan on 4 January 2023 and 10 January 2025. Both times he met Premananda Maharaj.
Virat retired from Test cricket on Monday
Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket on Monday. Kohli wrote on Instagram – Test cricket tested me, shaped me, taught me lessons that I will remember for a lifetime.
Virat Kohli has played 123 Test matches. He scored 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries. Virat scored 7 double centuries. He was selected Test Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018.
All the great men have faced adversity
Maharaj said- God has not kept any medicine to save this world without adversity. Till date, all the great men whose lives have changed have had to face adversity. So whenever adversity comes, be happy at that time that God is blessing me now. I am getting inspiration to walk on the right path.
You should not have the feeling of increasing wealth
Maharaj said- Lord Shri Krishna has said in the Gita that my devotee never gets destroyed. I give you birth in a family of noble and wealthy people. Then again I provide an environment of devotion. Now live exactly the way you are living now. Live as a completely worldly person. But your inner thoughts should change. There should not be any feeling of fame in your inner thoughts. There should not be any feeling of increasing wealth in your inner thoughts. Your inner thoughts should be that Lord, many births have passed. Now I want to meet you once. Lord, now I don’t want this world, I want you. Then things will work out. Chant God’s name happily. Don’t worry at all.
Chant the name of Radha with full concentration
Maharaj said- If you chant Radha-Radha, you will attain God in this very birth. There is no doubt in this and there is no need for any means. Look, understand what we are saying. We should not try to chant too many names. The number may be less, but chant with full concentration. Make it your life. Then you will see the result yourself. It is not a loss-making deal.
