Mumbai: Former India batsman Virender Sehwag has unfollowed wife Aarti on Instagram. After this, the news of their divorce has intensified on social media.

According to Hindustan Times, sources close to the family say that both have been living separately for several months and divorce is likely.

Virender Sehwag got married in the year 2004. They have two children. Aryavir was born in 2007 and Vedant in 2010.

Two weeks ago, Virender Sehwag visited Vishwa Nagayakshi temple in Palakkad. He shared its pictures on social media. However, Aarti was not seen anywhere in them.

Earlier, Virender Sehwag had posted the last picture of his family on Instagram on Deepawali 2024. In those pictures, apart from Sehwag, his son and mother were seen, but wife Aarti Ahlawat was not seen. In such a situation, people on social media say that the long-standing partnership of this couple is now on the verge of breaking.

Aarti was childhood friend of Virender Sehwag

Virender Sehwag married his childhood friend Aarti Ahlawat on 22 April 2004. Sehwag met Aarti for the first time when he was just 7 years old, while Aarti was 5 years old. It took 14 years for the 17-year friendship to turn into love.

Virender Sehwag once told that in May 2002 he proposed Aarti in a joking manner. At the same time, Aarti considered it a real proposal and immediately said yes. Both dated each other for 5 years. Both got married in 2004.

Who is Aarti Ahlawat?

Born on 16 December 1980, Aarti received her education from Lady Irwin Secondary School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and then did a diploma in Computer Science from Maitreyi College of Delhi University. Her love story with Sehwag started around the year 2000 and then in 2004, both of them got married at the residence of former Finance Minister and Chairman of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Arun Jaitley.
