Srinagar: Eight labourers were injured when a vehicle collided with an electric pole in the Pirbagh area on the outskirts of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.
Three of the injured were reported to be in critical condition. According to reports, the vehicle’s driver lost control before it collided with the electric pole.
Three Injured Critical
The injured were subsequently shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment.
The critically injured have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad, 27, a resident of Kupwara, who was driving the vehicle; Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, 16, a resident of Beerwah in Budgam; and Tanveer Ahmad Khan, 19, a resident of Kupwara.
The other injured have been identified as Nair Ahmad Kumar, 19; Ajaz Ahmad Sheikh, 26; Shahmeem Ahmad Khan, 25; Mohammad Qasim Sheikh, 27; and Kaisar Ahmed Teli, 19. All of them hail from Kupwara.

Weaving through traffic, tailgating and ignoring traffic signals or red lights create immediate hazards. Extreme tiredness or falling asleep behind the wheel, particularly during long journeys, can also contribute to road accidents.
