Meetings to Be Held in More Than 15,000 Areas
The main objective of the training programme was to prepare teams that will conduct meetings in more than 15,000 villages and wards across Punjab. During these meetings, people will be informed about the work carried out under the campaign so far. This will include information about action against drug smugglers, arrests, efforts to connect people affected by drug abuse with de-addiction centres, and other steps taken by the Punjab government.
Challenges of the Campaign to Be Discussed
The village- and ward-level meetings will also discuss challenges encountered during the anti-drug campaign. The public will also be informed about the roadmap for making the campaign more effective and comprehensive in the coming period.
Preparations Underway Ahead of Meetings
Ahead of the meetings in villages and wards, constituency-level preparatory meetings were organised. These meetings will be chaired by the concerned MLAs and constituency in-charges. Police and civil administration officials, constituency-level teams, VDC conveners and working presidents from villages and wards participated in these meetings.
Campaign Strategy to Be Finalised at Meetings
At the constituency-level meetings, the framework for village- and ward-level programmes, coordination among teams and other preparations will be finalised. During the training programme held in Phillaur, participants were given detailed information about both stages of the campaign. They were also briefed about their responsibilities and the working procedure for the upcoming village- and ward-level meetings.
Commitment to Make Punjab Drug-Free
At the conclusion of the programme, all participants pledged to effectively take the ‘Yudh Nasha Mukti’ campaign to every village and ward in Punjab. They expressed their commitment to carrying out their responsibilities seriously and taking the campaign forward with broad public participation.
