Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha unveiled the bust of Maharaja Ranbir Singh at the Central Sanskrit University, Kot Bhalwal campus. On this occasion, the university’s Jammu campus was also renamed ‘Shri Maharaja Ranbir Singh Campus’.
Remembered Ranbir Singh’s Contributions
The Lieutenant Governor said that Maharaja Ranbir Singh not only governed Jammu and Kashmir but also gave it a new direction. He laid the foundation for a strong society through cultural prosperity, knowledge, and reforms. He said that his ideas continue to guide society even today.
Inspired Youth
Manoj Sinha appealed to the youth to contribute to the nation’s development by adopting the values of Maharaja Ranbir Singh. He said that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir should play a leading role in building a safe, prosperous, and sensitive society.
Emphasis on Education and Culture
The Lieutenant Governor said that India’s tradition has been to embrace both science and culture. He also assured financial assistance for establishing Gurukuls, Sanskrit schools, and Veda schools in the region.
Many dignitaries, including Karan Singh, Vishwamurti Shastri, Vice Chancellor Srinivas Varkhedi, officials, teachers, and a large number of students were present at the event.
