Just one day after Diksha Dubey, a second-year B.Tech student, committed suicide, another female student attempted to take her own life at 12:00 AM on late Friday night. The student attempted to jump from the Kalpana Hostel but was saved by her classmates.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, summoned an ambulance, and transported the student to the hospital. The reasons behind the incident remain unknown at this time.
A fellow student stated that the first-year student from the CSE Department was attempting to climb onto the balcony to commit suicide when some classmates spotted her and intervened to save her.
Meanwhile, a WhatsApp message is going viral on social media, which reads: “Hey guys, my life has no purpose… I am going to commit suicide now.” It is being claimed that this message was sent by the very student who attempted suicide; however, there has been no official confirmation of this.
Vishal Kumar, the SHO of the University Police Station, confirmed that the girl has been saved and has been admitted to the hospital. Further investigation by the police is underway.
