A student from village Jhanda Lubana in Kahnuwan block of Gurdaspur has ended his life after getting fed up with the administration of a famous private school in town Dasua. According to information, 15-year-old Navjot Singh was studying in a famous private school in the nearby city of Dasua.
On April 27, he was severely punished by the school administration for a minor mistake and was made to stand in the sun for two periods. Disturbed by this, Navjot Singh swallowed some poisonous medicine, after which he was admitted to the hospital.
Navjot Singh died during treatment here at the hospital.
The school students who reached the cremation site narrated the entire incident and also revealed the excesses of the school management, and demanded that justice be given to Navjot’s family and strict action be taken against the school management.
On the other hand, Bhaini Mian Khan DSP Kulwant Singh Mann said that the police have registered a case against the school administrator.
