Let us tell you that Gurpreet was seriously injured in an explosion that took place while trying to make a bomb in his house on September 10. He was under treatment at AIIMS. During the treatment here, his right hand had to be amputated. Therefore, he could not be questioned much. As soon as the doctors discharged him on Wednesday, the police arrested him.
Police officials say that preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was making bombs with the intention of attacking the army. Law student Gurpreet Singh had ordered a large quantity of chemicals online to make the bomb. He had mixed these chemicals to prepare an explosive material weighing about two kg. While he was preparing the bomb, a sudden explosion occurred.
His intentions were dangerous. If his conspiracy had succeeded, a major accident could have occurred. The Bathinda police have completed the investigation of the chemicals spilled in Gurpreet’s house and have sealed the house. The chemicals are so sensitive that the police have written a letter to the army for their investigation.
