Amritsar: A woman tragically jumped from the seventh floor of Baba Atal Rai Ji Gurudwara Sahib, which is part of the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar, Punjab. She fell and landed on her head, resulting in her death at the scene.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and the police are investigating the incident and gathering information about the woman. This morning, she came to pay her respects at the Golden Temple. It is unclear whether she completed this ritual before the incident occurred.
She climbed to the seventh floor of the Gurudwara before jumping around 9:30 a.m. Vikram Singh, the manager of the Golden Temple, reported that the woman appeared to be about 25 years old. He confirmed that she arrived to pay her respects around 9:30 a.m. and then jumped from the seventh floor of the Gurudwara.
CCTV footage from inside Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib will be reviewed to determine whether she was alone or accompanied by someone. As of now, the woman’s identity remains unknown, and there are no details about where she came from or whether she was with anyone else.
After being informed about the incident, members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee notified the police, who subsequently arrived at the scene to examine and recover the woman’s body. The investigation into her identity and the circumstances surrounding her death is ongoing.
