New Delhi: Kuldeep Singh Sengar has suffered a major setback from the Supreme Court in the Unnao rape case. The apex court has quashed the Delhi High Court’s order staying Sengar’s life imprisonment sentence.
Court’s Comment on POCSO Act
During the hearing, Justice Joymalya Bagchi stated that the High Court’s conclusion that an MLA is not a “public servant” under the POCSO Act cannot be considered correct. The Supreme Court disagreed with this technical argument.

Order to deliver decision on appeal within two months
