The Artificial Intelligence Summit began in Delhi on Monday evening. It will last for five days. The Prime Minister inaugurated it. Delegates from over 135 countries are participating in the summit. CEOs from over 100 companies are participating. Presidents and Prime Ministers from over 20 countries, and ministers from over 50 countries are participating. Three hundred thousand people have registered to participate. This is not just a technical conference, but a practical one. Its objective is to transform the lives of ordinary people by applying artificial intelligence (AI) in areas like health, agriculture, and education. India is not lagging behind any advanced country in the race to implement artificial intelligence. India’s share of the total artificial intelligence pool is growing at a rate of 33 percent.
ChatGPT, a platform for artificial intelligence, has reached 145 million monthly users. Reports indicate that 69 percent of companies will invest in artificial intelligence this year. Believe it or not, it also reports that 92 percent of employees in India are using artificial intelligence. Globally, 75 percent of companies prioritize AI, while in India, 80 percent prioritize AI.
Prime Minister Modi has stated that India is moving towards becoming a powerhouse of artificial intelligence. In the budget, we also mentioned encouraging data investments for data centers. He stated that India will soon succeed in becoming a digital nation and a global hub for artificial intelligence. But, along with this, some considerations must be addressed. The era is changing here; the era of robotics has arrived, which is becoming a substitute for human labor. Furthermore, when all problems are solved with the use of artificial intelligence and future plans are outlined, what will experts do? Another important point is that the education currently provided to ordinary citizens is based on paper-based degrees.
Now, in this era of artificial intelligence, we are moving towards a paperless system. Experts say that India must embrace artificial intelligence because it will give it global scale, reduce production costs, and generate greater profits for investors. However, the training with which most of India’s young generation is being prepared will be irrelevant in the current situation. Therefore, India must become a powerhouse of artificial intelligence, but at the same time, India’s young generation must also be equipped to adapt to changing circumstances. If millions of people in old-fashioned jobs become unemployed after artificial intelligence and digitalization, new training will be necessary for them.
Our nation’s leaders say that artificial intelligence and digitalization will create completely new types of jobs. If our young generation is trained accordingly, they will surely become capable of this artificial intelligence and help the country rapidly develop. Our suggestion is that this global AI conference should also ensure that we don’t leave our country’s young generation incapable of adapting to changing circumstances. Circumstances may change, but before that, the training of the young generation must change; this is the demand of the changing times.
