UP is in the grip of severe heat. In the month of April itself, it feels like the heat of June. The mercury has crossed 47°C. Since Monday morning, the sun has been shining intensely. Strong winds are blowing amidst the movement of clouds in the sky.
In many cities, waves of hot winds have made it difficult for people to leave their homes. Due to the heatwave, hospitals have seen an increase in patients with vomiting and diarrhea. A cold room has been set up in the government hospital of Kashi. Four beds have been arranged separately for heatstroke patients. A bathtub has also been installed in the ward.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for 14 districts in the state. At the same time, a heatwave warning has been issued for 60 districts. The Meteorological Department says that the weather will change in the state from today. The rain will start from western UP and gradually reach eastern UP. This will provide some relief from the heat and heatwave.
Talking about the last 24 hours, Banda remained the hottest in the state for the second consecutive day at 46.8°C. Earlier, on Saturday, Banda was the hottest in the entire world. The temperature had reached 47.4°C. Meanwhile, heavy rain with strong winds occurred in Lalitpur on Sunday afternoon.
Lucknow meteorologist Atul Singh said-
In the state, there are chances of heat waves in the afternoon today and nights being hot in some areas. With the activation of a new western disturbance, a new phase of rain with thunder and lightning will start from tomorrow. In the next 5 days, the temperature may drop by 2-4°C. There will also be some relief from the heat waves.

April 28: Light rain may occur across the state. Winds may blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour.
April 29: There will be good rainfall in eastern and western UP. Strong winds will blow. The temperature will drop at night.
April 30: There will be rain throughout the state. There is a possibility of lightning. During the day, hot winds will blow at a speed of 40 km per hour.
May 1: Light rain in western UP and heavy rain in eastern UP. Lightning may occur amidst thunder in the clouds.
May 2: Light rain may occur in some parts of the state. Strong winds will blow. There will be a slight drop in temperature.
