New Delhi: The US Embassy in India highlighted remarks by President Donald Trump, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a leader who “gets things done” and expressing confidence that the India-US relationship will grow stronger in the coming years.
Phone Call Focused on West Asia Tensions
The exchange follows a phone conversation between the two leaders, where the ongoing Iran conflict was a central topic. PM Modi emphasized India’s support for de-escalation and the strategic importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, secure, and accessible for global trade.
Commitment to Regional Peace and Stability
Both leaders stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in West Asia and agreed to stay in close touch on measures to safeguard regional security and global shipping lanes.
Impact on Global Markets
The discussion comes amid heightened tensions following US-Israel strikes on Iran and subsequent Iranian drone and missile attacks. The conflict has affected global markets, particularly energy prices, which remain highly sensitive to regional developments.
