Dehradun: Uttarakhand is expected to experience some relief from the cold today, December 22nd. However, fog will continue to linger in six districts, including Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, as well as the plains of Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat, and Pauri. A special warning has been issued for Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. Meanwhile, temperatures in Kedarnath have dropped to -14°C.
Rain and Snowfall Alert in Four Districts
Additionally, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain and snowfall alert for four districts today, including Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh. Dehradun’s AQI has exceeded 200 for the sixth consecutive day. Today, the AQI was recorded at 202, which falls in the hazardous category.
Dense fog in the plains

However, dry weather is expected in other districts of the state.

In the plains, the Meteorological Department has issued a watch warning for dense fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. Visibility is expected to be low on Monday morning, which could affect road and rail traffic. The Meteorological Department has advised people to exercise special caution during the morning hours.

Temperature data also confirms the increasing cold. On Sunday, Dehradun recorded a maximum temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 7.1 degrees Celsius. Pantnagar recorded a maximum temperature of 20.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 5.5 degrees Celsius. In hilly areas like Mukteshwar and New Tehri, the effects of the cold were clearly felt, despite the minimum temperature remaining above normal. However, no rain was recorded anywhere in the state.

The forecast for Dehradun on Monday shows mainly clear to partly cloudy skies. Fog is possible in the morning. The city is expected to have a maximum temperature of around 23 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius.
