Rohtak: Amidst a long-standing dispute between the President and the General Secretary of the Vaishya Education Society in Rohtak, the District Registrar of Firms and Societies has cancelled the membership of both the President and the Treasurer. Following the issuance of this order, a meeting of the Governing Body has been convened to hand over the charge of duties to the General Secretary.
The dispute between the Vaishya Society’s General Secretary, Radhey Shyam Garg, and President, Vikas Goyal, escalated significantly when a clerk physically assaulted Radhey Shyam Garg, and the President who was present at the scene failed to take any action. Since that incident, the conflict between Radhey Shyam Garg and President Vikas Goyal has continued to intensify.
Unusual Behavior of the President During the Inquiry
When the District Registrar of Firms and Societies conducted an inquiry into the matter, irregularities were discovered in the President’s functioning. The investigation revealed instances such as unilaterally increasing the Dearness Allowance (DA) on December 11, 2025, without approval; attempting to alter records following the receipt of complaints; creating new posts for “Coordinators” in violation of the Society’s constitution; and infringing upon the authority of the Secretary.
Favorites Receive Unfair Advantages
The Society’s General Secretary, Radhey Shyam Garg, stated that President Vikas Goyal and Treasurer Pawan Mittal misused their authority to extend undue benefits to their favorites. During the recruitment of these favored individuals, salary packages amounting to as much as one lakh rupees per month were offered. The entire scheme was exposed during the investigation, and the Society Registrar has now delivered a verdict on the matter.
Legal Advice on Membership Cancellation to Be Seeked
Vikas Goyal, President of the Vaishya Society, stated that he intends to seek legal counsel to challenge the decision issued by the District Registrar of Firms and Societies regarding the cancellation of his membership. No work was carried out improperly within the organization. All actions were undertaken with the consent of the Governing Body. This decision is incorrect.
