New Delhi: India spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has climbed to the top of the latest ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings, becoming only the third Indian bowler to achieve the feat after Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi.
The 34-year-old has emerged as a key figure in India’s T20I setup over the past 12 months, with consistent performances that helped him leapfrog New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy to the No.1 position.

Chakaravarthy, who bagged his second career five-wicket haul against England earlier this year, has continued his good run in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.
- vs UAE: 1/4 in India’s opening game
- vs Pakistan: 1/24 in a commanding win four days later
