London: Exclusive photographs have emerged showing the Mayfair property in London where Indian criminal lawyer Vijay Aggarwal was arrested earlier this month in connection with a sexual assault investigation.
The property, located at 29 Brick Street in Mayfair, is at the centre of a criminal case being investigated by London’s Metropolitan Police. Aggarwal, 57, and his personal assistant Manpreet Kaur, 41, were arrested at the address on August 11.
Photographs obtained by WIC News show the exterior of the luxury Mayfair townhouse where Aggarwal and Kaur were reportedly staying. The property is described as a high-end serviced residence in one of London’s prominent central areas.
What happened at the Mayfair property?
According to the Metropolitan Police, officers attended a property in Brick Street, Mayfair, on August 11 following reports of sexual assaults at the address.
Police said the reported incidents took place on May 26 and August 9. Aggarwal was subsequently charged with four counts of sexual assault involving two women. Kaur faces two charges of intentionally encouraging or assisting the commission of sexual assault offences.
Two other people — a 23-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman — were also arrested in connection with the investigation but were later released on bail pending further inquiries.
Aggarwal and aide remanded in custody
Aggarwal and Kaur were charged on August 13 and appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court. Both were remanded in custody, with the case sent to Southwark Crown Court.
Their next hearing is scheduled for September 10.
The two women who reported the alleged assaults are receiving support from specialist officers, according to police.
Who is Vijay Aggarwal?
Aggarwal is a Delhi-based criminal lawyer who has represented several high-profile clients, including fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi. His arrest and the allegations in London are separate from the proceedings relating to the Punjab National Bank case involving Choksi.
It is important to note that the allegations against Aggarwal are not convictions, and the case remains before the UK courts.
