Weather to Shift Again in Haryana, Rain and Storms Expected on April 3-4

Haryana: Amid rising heat in Haryana, weather conditions are set to change once again. According to the Agricultural Meteorology Department of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, most districts in the state are likely to experience thunderstorms, strong winds, and rainfall on April 3 and 4.

Due to the influence of a western disturbance, some areas may also witness moderate to heavy showers.

Above-Normal Rainfall Recorded in March

Haryana witnessed multiple western disturbances throughout March, resulting in higher-than-normal rainfall. As per Meteorological Department data, the state recorded around 17.9 mm of rainfall during the month, exceeding the normal average of 15.1 mm by nearly 19 percent.

Districts like Rohtak and Rewari received the highest rainfall during this period, reflecting the significant impact of changing weather patterns.

Temperature Trends: Slight Dip, Relief from Heat

Temperatures across the state are currently close to normal, although daytime temperatures remain slightly below average. A change in wind direction in the coming days is expected to raise nighttime temperatures marginally, while daytime temperatures are likely to remain stable.

The minimum temperature has dropped by about 1.1°C, with the lowest recorded at 13.9°C in Sonipat. Other readings include 17.2°C in Hisar and Rohtak, 15.5°C in Karnal, around 16°C in Gurugram, and nearly 20°C in Bhiwani and Sirsa.

Meanwhile, maximum temperatures are around 2.2°C below normal. Ambala recorded the highest at 33°C, followed by 32.8°C in Chandigarh, 32.6°C in Rohtak, 32.1°C in Karnal, 30.8°C in Hisar, and 27.5°C in Narnaul. Cloud cover and winds have provided relief from the heat, and no major rise in daytime temperatures is expected on April 3-4 due to rain.

District-Wise Rainfall Variation

Rainfall distribution across Haryana in March varied significantly. Rohtak recorded the highest rainfall at 37.9 mm, followed by Rewari (36.8 mm), Charkhi Dadri (36.0 mm), Bhiwani (26.8 mm), and Palwal (23.0 mm).

On the other hand, some districts received much lower rainfall. Sirsa recorded the least at 5.2 mm, followed by Jind (6.4 mm), Fatehabad (7.3 mm), Ambala (11.0 mm), and Yamunanagar, which received 19.8 mm—around 33 mm below normal.

Rain and Hail Bring Temporary Relief

Recent rain and hailstorms have helped bring down temperatures across the state, offering temporary relief from the heat. A rainbow was also spotted in Hisar following rainfall earlier this week.

The Meteorological Department has indicated that similar weather activity may continue in the coming days, with fluctuating temperatures and intermittent rainfall likely across Haryana.
