Easy besan Chilla Recipe

Ingredients: – 1 cup besan (gram flour) – 1/2 cup water (adjust as needed for batter consistency) – 1 small onion, finely chopped – 1 small tomato, finely chopped – 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste) – 1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves – 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera) – 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder – Salt to taste – Oil or ghee for cooking

Prepare the Batter

 Gradually add water to the besan mixture, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. The batter should be smooth and flowing, similar to dosa batter consistency.

Add Vegetables

Add chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, and coriander leaves to the batter. Mix everything together so that the vegetables are evenly distributed.

Heat the Griddle

Heat a non-stick or cast-iron griddle (tava) over medium heat. Spread a few drops of oil or ghee evenly over the surface.

Spread Chilla Batter

-Pour a ladleful of batter onto the hot griddle and spread it gently in a circular motion to form a thin pancake -Drizzle a few drops of oil or ghee around the edges of the chilla

Cook Until Golden Brown

Cook the chilla for 2-3 minutes on one side until it turns golden brown and crisp

Serve Hot

Once cooked, transfer the besan chilla to a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more chillas.
