Police in Bathinda have made a major breakthrough after investigating the body of a 22-year-old married woman found in bushes on Thandi Road on Sunday. According to the police, the woman’s husband, Sahil, killed her by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon because he was upset about his wife Ritika’s affair.

After committing the crime, the accused initially filed a missing person report for his wife to evade the police. He then himself informed the police that his wife’s mobile phone location was showing up in the bushes on Thandi Road. The accused led the police team to the spot and helped them recover his wife’s body.

Following the discovery of the body, senior police officers arrived at the scene. A case was registered against unknown persons at Canal Police Station.

When the police began their investigation, they first questioned the deceased woman’s husband, Sahil. During questioning, Sahil confessed to the crime in front of his family members and senior police officers.

Sources say that the accused was distressed about his wife’s affair, which led him to commit the murder. He then tried to pin the blame on his wife’s lover to escape punishment. The police will now arrest the accused husband, Sahil, and present him in court. They will also recover the weapon used in the crime from him.
