Mumbai: Actor Yash has praised his Ramayana co-star Ranbir Kapoor, saying the actor made “great sacrifices” and showed complete dedication while preparing to portray Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic film.
Yash, who will play demon king Ravana in the two-part adaptation, shared his views during a panel discussion at the San Diego Comic Con, where he appeared alongside Ranbir Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari.
‘Playing Lord Rama Is a Huge Responsibility’
Speaking about Ranbir’s role, Yash said portraying Lord Rama is not an ordinary acting challenge and requires immense responsibility.
He said that even Ranbir’s hesitation about taking up the role reflected his understanding of the importance and respect associated with the character.
Yash added that audiences would witness a “beautiful Rama” as Ranbir had approached the role with sincerity and commitment.
Yash Highlights Ranbir’s Hard Work
Praising Ranbir’s preparation, Yash said the actor worked extremely hard for the character and deserved appreciation for his efforts.
He described Ranbir as a talented actor and said playing Lord Rama was a difficult responsibility that required dedication beyond regular performances.
Ramayana Cast and Release Details
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features:

The film is planned as a two-part release, with the first part scheduled to arrive during Diwali 2026, followed by the second installment during Diwali 2027.
The trailer launch event for Ramayana was held in Delhi on July 18, while the worldwide trailer release has been postponed due to a major international development related to the film.
The upcoming epic has generated significant anticipation due to its star-studded cast, large-scale production and mythological storyline.
