Faridabad: A three-year-old girl who fell into a borewell in Sihi village of Faridabad, Haryana, was safely rescued on Monday morning. Multiple agencies, including the NDRF, conducted an overnight rescue operation to save the girl. After nearly 10 hours of hard work, the girl was pulled out of the borewell.
Girl rescued around 3:50 pm
According to information, the incident occurred around 6 pm on Sunday evening. The girl fell into an open borewell while playing. The NDRF control room received information about the incident around 7:45 pm, after which the NDRF team arrived at the scene around 9:05 am.
After a rescue operation that lasted several hours, the girl was safely rescued around 3:50 am on Monday morning. She was then taken to the civil hospital for treatment. According to officials, the girl’s condition was stable after the rescue.
Multiple agencies conducted a joint rescue operation
Several agencies, including the NDRF, Haryana SDRF, police, fire service, medical team, and municipal corporation, were present at the scene to rescue the girl. A civil defense team from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, also assisted in the rescue operation.
Rescue teams made numerous efforts, including digging throughout the night, to reach the girl and finally succeeded in retrieving her safely.
The borewell was approximately 10 years old
According to officials, the borewell was approximately 10 years old and had been unused for a long time. Reports indicate that its cover was recently removed, leaving the borewell open.
This incident has raised concerns about the safety of open and unused borewells in the area. After being rescued, the girl was admitted to a hospital for further medical examination and treatment.
