New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday in what officials described as a courtesy call.
The Prime Minister’s Office shared a photograph of the meeting in a post on X and said, “Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri @myogiadityanath met Prime Minister @narendramodi.”
Meeting Comes After UP Defence Production Remarks
The meeting came a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s contribution to defence production and said that BrahMos missiles and AK-203 assault rifles being manufactured in the state are giving “sleepless nights” to Pakistan and Maoists, respectively.
Shah made the remarks during the inaugural ceremony of the fourth Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS), which began at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida on Friday.
Addressing the gathering, Shah said Uttar Pradesh is emerging as an engine of the country’s growth, with investment and production expanding across the state.
Recalling that Prime Minister Modi launched the ‘Make in India’ campaign around 12 years ago, Shah said the Centre and state governments subsequently worked together to transform India into a global hub for manufacturing and innovation.
BJP Leadership Reviews Organisation Ahead of UP Elections
Earlier this week, BJP national president Nitin Nabin visited Uttar Pradesh for two days, with a focus on districts in the western part of the state.
During his visit, the party leadership reviewed organisational preparedness at the booth, Shakti Kendra, mandal and district levels and held interactions with party workers.
In a post on X, Nabin said that during his Uttar Pradesh visit, he reached the Kargil Martyrs Memorial Park in Meerut, where he paid floral tributes to soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the country’s defence and planted a tree in their memory.
He said the courage, dedication and sacrifice of Indian soldiers would continue to inspire the people of the country.
