100 days of US-Iran war

Monday, June 8th marked the 100th day of the war between the United States and Iran. On February 28th, the United States launched the war with the idealistic slogan that it would not allow the Gulf countries and Israel to become hostages to Iran’s nuclear power, and therefore, it would seize Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities. This served Israel and its Prime Minister Netanyahu’s interests.

Netanyahu wanted this war to continue and his position to remain in power, but the United States, arrogantly believing it would wipe out Iran in a few days, launched a war whose horrors remain unabated, and even after 100 days, there is no end in sight.

This is the first time in 80 years that this war has directly or indirectly involved 14 countries, as all Gulf countries have US military bases. Iran is attacking them with its missile and drone forces to teach the US a lesson. Although efforts for peace talks began just two months later, both sides remain unwilling to listen to each other. The US wants to seize Iran’s enriched uranium reserves and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The US is unwilling to open Iran’s frozen accounts or lift the sanctions imposed on it.

ooIran, on the other hand, has focused the entire fight on asserting control over the Strait of Hormuz. Due to its blockade, gas and oil containers are still stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the US maintains a blockade in the Gulf of Oman. Everyone knows that the Gulf countries are a major source of energy for the world. In addition to supplying crude oil and natural gas, they also supply agricultural fertilizers.

The crisis of shortages of these essential commodities has fueled inflation in 146 countries. Surveyors say that this war has cost the world Rs. 474 trillion. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development warns that if the energy disruption continues, global GDP will decline and employment opportunities will be devastated. So far, this war has resulted in 7,000 deaths, 55,000 injuries, and 4.2 million displacement. Iran has also suffered significant losses. Israel has invaded Lebanon and occupied 20 percent of its territory.

Iran launched a massive attack on Israel on Monday in response to attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israel also fired missiles in response. Now, tell me, what is the meaning of the ceasefire that Trump brokered in Washington in such a situation? The US desire to eliminate Iran’s nuclear power, the blockade of Hormuz, Iran’s frozen funds, and Israel’s continued attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon are all obstacles to peace. The US and Iran have promised to extend the 60-day ceasefire, but America’s policy of seizing enriched uranium and eliminating nuclear facilities is preventing any decision. Iran says that the US has frozen its assets worth Rs. 2.3 trillion, so release them, but America refuses to relent.
