New Delhi: A group of 15 Indian nationals, including 11 residents of Punjab, landed at the Delhi airport today after being deported from Australia for violating immigration norms. Following their arrival, the Punjab government initiated measures to ensure their smooth transit back to their home districts.

Deported Individuals Belong to Multiple Punjab Districts

According to reports, the deported individuals hail from various parts of Punjab, including Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Khanna, Moga, Nawanshahr, Garhshankar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, and Rupnagar. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had previously addressed the matter, clarifying that the deportation was a result of these individuals breaching local regulations while in Australia.

Punjab Government Facilitates Transit and Documentation

Authorities are currently completing the documentation for the recent returnees from Australia before they are officially handed over to the Punjab government officials for their final leg of the journey.
