17-Year-Old Missing For 3 Months After Visiting Premanand Maharaj Ashram, Family Stages Protest

Vrindavan: The ashram of spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj has come under attention after the family of a 17-year-old boy, who allegedly went missing around three months ago after visiting the ashram, staged a protest outside the premises demanding that he be traced.

The development comes days after the death of Premanand Maharaj’s disciple Rasik Dulari Sharan under circumstances that are being investigated, bringing the Radha Keli Kunj Ashram into focus.

Family Stages 8-Hour Protest Outside Ashram

The family of 17-year-old Anuj Chaudhary, a resident of Baramai Kheda village in Hathras district’s Sadabad area, sat outside the ashram on Friday, demanding to meet their son and seeking his safe recovery.

Police reached the spot after the situation escalated and held discussions with the family. After around eight hours, the family ended the protest at around 7:30 p.m. following assurances from the administration that efforts would be made to trace the teenager.

Police personnel have also been deployed around the ashram to prevent any untoward incident.

Teenager Reportedly Missing Since July 3

According to information available in the case, Anuj has been missing since July 3.

His family alleges that he received initiation from Premanand Maharaj on June 26 and has documents or other evidence supporting the claim.

After receiving the initiation, Anuj reportedly left home on July 3 saying that he was going to the ashram. Since then, his family says they have been unable to establish his whereabouts.

    Family Alleges They Were Misled

Anuj’s father, Rajveer Chaudhary, claimed that the family has been visiting the ashram repeatedly for the past three months in search of their son.

According to him, the family was allegedly given different responses at different times. They were reportedly told that Anuj was not at the ashram, that he would be allowed to meet them soon, or that he would be sent home, but the family claims they were never able to meet him.

The family has expressed concern that something may have happened to Anuj and has demanded that authorities trace him.

The family has also alleged that followers associated with Premanand Maharaj have kept the teenager in their custody. This allegation has not been independently established and remains part of the family’s claims.

Anuj is reportedly the only son of his family, and his disappearance has left his relatives distressed as they continue to seek information about his whereabouts.
