    Recent Explosions Reported

In June this year, a major explosion occurred at a firecracker factory located in the forested outskirts of a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district, leaving five women dead and critically injuring more than a dozen others. According to police, around 25 people were working inside the facility near Atarasi when the blast happened on June 15.

Earlier this month, three people lost their lives in an explosion at an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit operating inside a house in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar district. The incident took place on August 9 near Sattur. Police said the victims were charred to death on the spot while making firecrackers.

On July 23, over 200 firecracker factories in Virudhunagar district, which had been closed for several days due to inspections following multiple explosions, reopened and resumed operations.
