3 drug smugglers from Haryana arrested in Manali; heroin recovered

In a major action on Tuesday, Manali police arrested three youths on charges of drug trafficking. According to DSP Manali KD Sharma, the accused have been identified as Pankaj Kumar (21), a resident of Aleu in Manali, Jatin Sharma (21), a resident of Chadiara in Mandi and Rohit Singh (21), resident of Baroli in Ambala district of Haryana.

The police had received secret information that two youths were smuggling chitta in room number 304 of Hotel Him Tendua located near Mountaineering Institute Aleu. Based on the information, the police took action and searched the hotel room. During the search, the police recovered chitta from the room.

The police have registered a case against the three accused under sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is going on under the leadership of Havildar Jagdish Kumar.
