    4-Year-Old Kidnapped Child Rescued Safely Within 12 Hours in Jalandhar

    Jalandhar: The Commissionerate Police in Jalandhar safely rescued a four-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped from the Basti Bawa Khel area within 12 hours of the incident. The kidnappers reportedly abandoned the child at the bus stand and fled. Police traced the boy late at night and handed him over to his family.

    Child Abducted While Playing Outside House

    ACP West Atish Bhatia said the incident took place on September 17 at around 2 p.m. The four-year-old boy, identified as Kunj, was allegedly abducted by two youths riding a scooter from the Pannu Vihar area of Basti Bawa Khel. The child was playing outside his house when he was allegedly taken away.

    Following the incident, a case was registered at Basti Bawa Khel Police Station.

    CCTV Footage Helped Police Trace Child

    Police formed multiple teams to trace the missing child and examined CCTV footage from the surrounding areas. Based on the information gathered during the investigation, the search operation was intensified.

    The police said the child was eventually found safe with the help of the investigation teams, the family, local residents and information shared through various channels.

    After completing the necessary formalities, the child was handed over to his family.

    The Commissionerate Police thanked members of the public, family members, social media users and the media for their cooperation in locating the child. Police also appealed to people to immediately inform the authorities about any missing child or suspicious activity.

    BJP Leader Sheetal Angural Visits Family

    Meanwhile, BJP leader and former Jalandhar West MLA Sheetal Angural also visited the family after the child went missing and offered support.

    During his visit, Angural raised questions over the Punjab government and an AAP minister, alleging concerns over the handling of the incident.
