Hanuman Jayanti, also known as Hanuman Janmotsav, marks the birth of Lord Hanuman, a devoted follower of Lord Ram. This celebration occurs on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra, typically in March or April. The festivities include vibrant processions, cultural performances, and the distribution of prasad.
On this auspicious day, devotees fast and perform puja (worship) to honor Lord Hanuman. They chant Hanuman Mantras to seek blessings from Sankatmochan and deepen their connection with the deity. Many devotees visit Hanuman temples across the country to offer prayers and seek blessings from Lord Hanuman, celebrated for his devotion, courage, and strength.
Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes to the nation on Hanuman Jayanti through a post on X. He wrote, “Many best wishes to the countrymen on Hanuman Jayanti. With the blessings of Sankatmochan, may you all remain healthy, happy, and prosperous in life; this is my wish.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his heartfelt greetings with the nation, stating, “Heartiest greetings to all countrymen on the occasion of Shri Hanuman Jayanti. May Lord Bajrangbali, the savior from troubles, remove all difficulties and grant strength, intelligence, wisdom, and a long life. Jai Shri Ram!”
