Punjab Weather Update: Yellow alert for rain issued across state

The average maximum temperature of the state remains 2.8 degrees above normal.

A yellow alert has been issued for rain in Punjab today, Saturday. During this time, winds can blow at a speed of 40 km in many districts of the state. Some districts of Punjab also received rain on Friday, but despite this, the state’s temperature continues to rise. The average maximum temperature of the state remains 2.8 degrees above normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, in the last 24 hours, an increase of 0.3 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the average maximum temperature of the state. The current average maximum temperature is 2.8 degrees above normal, due to which the effect of heat is clearly visible.

The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Bathinda at 42.6 degrees Celsius, which was the highest in the whole of Punjab. After this, Ludhiana recorded a temperature of 39.0 degrees, Patiala 38.8 degrees and Moga’s Budh Singh Wala station recorded a temperature of 38.1 degrees.

Strong winds blew in most districts of Punjab on Friday. However, there was no damage. Amidst the Orange alert issued on Friday, 4 mm of rain was recorded in Moga, 2 mm in Ludhiana and 2 mm in Ferozepur.

Despite this, an alert has been issued for rain and strong winds in the districts adjoining Himachal even today. A yellow alert has been issued for rain in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Sangrur in Punjab.
