Ludhiana MP Raja Warring writes to Railway Minister, demands renaming of New Delhi railway station after Guru Teg Bahadur

On the occasion of Prakash Utsav of Guru Tegh Bahadur, Raja Warring has placed this demand before the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Punjab Pradesh Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has written a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Raja Warring has demanded that the New Delhi Railway Station should be named after the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur. On the occasion of Prakash Utsav of Guru Tegh Bahadur, Raja Warring has placed this demand before the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaww.

MP Warring wrote in a letter to the Railway Minister,  “We are celebrating the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He sacrificed himself to protect the faith of Kashmiri Pandits, so if we name the New Delhi Railway Station after him, it will be a true tribute to him.”

He added that Guru Tegh Bahadur traveled from Sri Anandpur Sahib to Delhi to protect Kashmiri Pandits. He was beheaded on the orders of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, who could not force him to change his religion.

Congress president further added that said Guru Tegh Bahadur is truly called “Hind di Chadar” (shield of India) as he protected the religion from a tyrant. He said that once the New Delhi Railway Station is named after the ninth Guru, it will definitely inspire more people, especially our young and future generations, to know about his great sacrifice.
