It has been raining in Jammu and Kashmir for the last several days. Three people died due to a cloudburst after rain in the Seri Bagna area of ​​Ramban district on Sunday morning.

Srinagar, April 20: It has been raining in Jammu and Kashmir for the last several days. Three people died due to a cloudburst after rain in the Seri Bagna area of ​​Ramban district on Sunday morning. Sources said that the cloudburst caused sudden floods. The debris of the mountain came towards the village, due to which many people and houses were trapped. At present, the rescue operation is going on.

On the other hand, landslides have occurred at many places in the Banihal area of ​​Ramban district. Due to this, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed. Hundreds of vehicles are stranded. The Kishtwar-Paddar road is also closed. Movement of vehicles has been stopped here. Officials have appealed to travel on the highway only after the weather clears.

Some videos of the landslide have surfaced, in which debris can be seen falling from the mountain. In some areas, the debris has reached the roads and residential areas. In one video, three-four tankers and some other vehicles are seen completely buried in the debris. Apart from this, hotels and houses are also seen affected by the debris.

100 people were evacuated from Dharamkund

Dharmkund village near the Chenab river in Ramban district has been hit by a landslide. 10 houses were completely damaged, 25-30 houses were also damaged. Dharmkund police rescued about 90-100 people safely.

Many trees fell due to storm in the Udhampur district, power supply disrupted

Heavy storm and rain have also caused heavy destruction in the Sataini Panchayat of Udhampur district. Former Sarpanch of the Panchayat, Parshottam Gupta, said that many trees were uprooted in the area, due to which traffic and electricity system have been badly affected.

He said- I have inspected my Panchayat. Many trees have fallen and the power supply is disrupted. I have seen such strong winds for the first time in the last 4-5 years.

The Union Minister said – in constant touch with the administration

Union Minister and BJP MP from Udhampur Dr. Jitendra Singh wrote on social media platform X that there has been heavy hailstorm, strong winds and landslides in many places in Ramban and surrounding areas. He said that the National Highway is currently closed and the administration is engaged in relief work. The Union Minister said that he is in constant touch with Deputy Commissioner Basir-ul-Haq Chaudhary and praised the district administration for the rescue operation. He said that all possible help is being given and if needed, he will also help with personal resources.
