Jalandhar, April 21: A speeding XUV car crushed a 3-year-old child near Kishanpura in Jalandhar, Punjab, killing him on the spot. The family was inconsolable after the child’s death. The family was taking the child for a ‘mundan’ ceremony when this accident happened. The deceased child has been identified as Tripur.
After the accident, the driver of the XUV fled from the spot. A dog also died in the incident. At present, the police are investigating the matter. According to the information received, this accident happened today, i.e. on Monday at around 7.30 am. At the time of the incident, the child’s family was also with him. Let us tell you that the police have recovered the car. A CCTV of the said car was found, in which it can be seen.
According to the information received, this accident happened on the road coming from Kishanpura towards the Domoria bridge. The deceased child’s uncle, Harish, said – I had asked for a child by extending my hands in front of Mata Rani. A child was born after 8 years. Today I was taking the child for the mundan ceremony. Then the accident happened on the way. A speeding car crushed the child.
The family said – Our child is gone, but the police should take strict action against the accused. The family said – we also ran after the driver, but could not find anything. The injured child was taken to Metro Hospital and then to Kapoor Hospital, but nothing could be found; by then, the child had died.
The child’s grandmother, Amarjeet, said – My grandson was soaked in blood. When we came to know, we immediately went out and our child was missing.
According to the information received, the police have taken the child’s body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
At present, the police are investigating the matter. At the same time, the vehicle number of the XUV driver who fled from the spot has been found out. The police have started collecting information about the vehicle. After collecting the information, the police will soon arrest the accused in the case. The family is in a bad condition since the child’s death.
