Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has increased the admission fee by 20 percent for the SOS examinations to be held in September. For the examinations to be held in September, students of class VIII will have to pay Rs 2400, students of class 10 will have to pay Rs 3000, while students of class 12 will have to pay up to Rs 2900 for fresh admission.
Apart from this, candidates will have to pay up to Rs 200 more for special marks improvement. According to the information, the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has invited applications for the SOS examinations to be held in September 2025. The Education Board has sought these applications with 20 percent higher fee. Education Board Secretary Dr. Major Vishal Sharma says that under the Board Act, the fee has to be increased by 20 percent every two years.
He said that the fee of HP SOS was not been updated since the year 2020. Due to this, now the fee has been increased for the examinations to be held in September 2025. It is noteworthy that the School Education Board has invited online applications from candidates from April 21 for the State Open School (SOS) and Special Marks Improvement Examinations to be held in September 2025. During this period, candidates can apply online from April 21 to May 21 without any late fee for new admission, TOC, re-admission, additional subject and special marks improvement examination. At the same time, the opportunity to apply with a late fee of Rs 1000 will be from May 22 to June 12, while candidates will be able to apply from June 13 to June 30 with a late fee of Rs 2000.
