Iran condemns terrorist attack in Pahalgam, calls it violation of international norms

Tehran [Iran], April 23 (ANI): Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday. In an official statement, the ministry described the attack as a “heinous act” and a serious crime. Baghaei stated that the attack, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of Indian nationals.

Tehran [Iran], April 23 (ANI): Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday. In an official statement, the ministry described the attack as a “heinous act” and a serious crime.

Baghaei stated that the attack, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of Indian nationals and citizens from other countries, is a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian norms. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and extended sympathy to the government and people of India, wishing a swift recovery for the injured.

He also called for increased international cooperation to combat terrorism, reiterating the Islamic Republic of Iran’s firm stance against all forms of terrorism. Baghaei emphasized the urgent need to enhance collaboration at regional and international levels to prevent and address terrorism, as well as to ensure the prosecution and punishment of its perpetrators and sponsors.

Condolences have been received from various nations following the attack. The German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, expressed his sorrow for the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist incident. He stated, “We strongly condemn the brutal terrorist attack targeting tourists in Pahalgam. We are saddened, and our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones. My sincere condolences to the people of India.”

As the nation mourns the tragic loss of innocent tourists, the coffins of the victims were brought to Srinagar airport. Several representatives from state governments arrived in Srinagar to assist in the return of victims and tourists to their respective states.
