Amritsar: In a major breakthrough against trans-border drug networks, Counter-Intelligence Amritsar apprehended a person along with Heroin. The operation was carried out after an input from Intelligence. The CI team apprehended the accused and recovered 3 Kg of heroin from him. The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

As per police, the apprehended accused has been identified as Balvir Singh, resident of Attari. Police recovered 3 kg of Heroin in an intelligence-led operation near Attari. As per police, An FIR under the NDPS Act is registered at Police Station SSOC Amritsar.
Efforts are underway to arrest co-accused Harpreet Singh and trace the entire network linked to Pakistan-based smugglers.
DGP Yadav further assured that Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling drug cartels and making Punjab drug-free.
