A tragic accident took place in Vikas Nagar, Chandigarh. An 11-year-old boy died after falling on electric wires while playing on the second floor of a house. After much effort, the locals rescued him from the wires, but he fell down and got badly burned. 11-year-old Surya was admitted to the PGI in a critical condition, where he died during treatment.

The incident took place on the morning of April 24. Surya was living with his mother Sangeeta in Vikas Nagar. Sangeeta works here making samosas, noodles and momos.

At the time of the accident, Surya was playing on the second floor when he lost his balance and fell down. While falling, he got caught in the electric wires passing through the street. Deepak, who was present at the scene during the incident, said that while he was passing through the same street as every day, he saw a child stuck in the wires. Many people were trying to save the child, but some people were just making videos.

Meanwhile, some people brought a wooden stick and tried to free the child from the wires. The stick kept slipping many times, but finally a person placed the stick on the child’s back and pushed him upwards, due to which he became free from the wires and fell on a vehicle parked below. After this, he was immediately taken to Panchkula Civil Hospital, from where, considering his serious condition, he was referred to PGI. He succumbed to his injuries there while undergoing treatment.
