This morning, a school child was attacked by seven to eight stray dogs near the Dhali tunnel in Shimla suburb. The child was badly injured. After this, the family took the child to IGMC Shimla for treatment.
After this incident, the father of the injured child, Karm Chand Bhatia, sat on a dharna outside the Municipal Corporation Mayor’s office, because the problem of stray dogs as well as monkeys is increasing day by day in Shimla city. Karm Chand told that his child has been bloodied by the dogs. He is undergoing treatment at IGMC.
He told that while going to school, his child was picking up a ball near Dhali tunnel, during which seven to eight dogs attacked his son. He said that if the sanitation workers present there had not saved my eight and a half year old child, he would have lost his means of living forever. He has demanded from the Municipal Corporation to find a permanent solution to the problems of stray dogs as well as monkeys.
Let us tell you that during the last one year, more than 2700 cases of dog and monkey bites have been reported in different hospitals of Shimla city. Due to this, especially children and women are confined to their homes in Shimla.
