Shimla, May 1: The weather has remained bad in most parts of Himachal Pradesh since this morning. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), due to the Western Disturbance being active, there is a possibility of rain in the mountains for the next 6 days.
During this period, two to three spells of heavy rain may also occur in many areas.
IMD has predicted that the weather will remain bad till May 6. During this time, rain is expected in most parts of the state. Especially good rain is predicted on May 4, 5 and 6. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain as well as thunderstorms and lightning for the next six days.
During this period, storms may blow at speeds of 50 to 60 kilometres per hour at some places.
Alert in 5 districts today
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla districts today. Along with these districts, a warning has also been issued for Una and Hamirpur tomorrow.
Alert issued in 11 districts on 3 and 4 May
A yellow alert has been issued in all districts except Lahaul Spiti on 3rd and 4th May. The people of the state will get relief from heat after rain in the mountains during the next 6 days. This will cause a drop in temperature by 4 to 5 degrees.
Light drizzle and storm during last 24 hours
During the last 24 hours, the temperature of most cities has dropped due to cloud cover in the sky. This has made the weather pleasant in the mountains. The temperature of Manali has dropped by 2.2 degrees in 24 hours and is now 26.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature of other cities has also decreased. There is a possibility of further drop in temperature today. This will provide relief from the heat to the people of the state.
