A soldier from Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh was martyred in Pakistan firing in Poonch last night.

Kangra, May 10: A soldier from Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh was martyred in Pakistan firing in Poonch last night. Subedar Pawan Kumar, a resident of Shahpur in Kangra, was posted in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. The army has informed the family about this. DC Kangra Hemraj Bairwa has confirmed this.

According to the information, Pawan Kumar was posted as Subedar Major. He was on duty in the Poonch area last night. During this time, Pawan Kumar was martyred in the firing of Pakistan. He was posted in the 25th Punjab Regiment.

Pawan Kumar’s body is being brought to Rajouri. It is believed that the martyr’s body may reach Pawan’s native village by tomorrow. It is being told that his father Garaj Singh, also retired from the army as a Havaldar.

SDM Shahpur Kartar Chand said that the army has not yet given any information about Pawan Kumar’s martyrdom. But information has been received from Pawan Kumar’s family. He said that it is being confirmed from the unit in which Pawan Kumar was posted.
