New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting at his residence on Monday, attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. Senior military leaders, including Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, also participated.

On May 11, PM Modi had explicitly instructed the armed forces to respond forcefully to cross-border firing, emphasizing that if bullets are fired from across the Line of Control (LoC), India will reply with bombs. Sources said that Operation Sindoor is ongoing, and India intends to retaliate with military force to any Pakistani aggression, especially after recent attacks on Indian airbases.

The Prime Minister’s firm stance of “Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola” (“If they fire bullets, we will respond with bombs”) marked a turning point, with authorities emphasizing that India’s response will be equally forceful and decisive.

Following a mutual understanding to de-escalate hostilities, the Indian Air Force announced that its assigned tasks under Operation Sindoor had been executed successfully with precision and professionalism. They clarified that the operation is still underway and will be explained in a detailed briefing soon. The IAF also urged the public to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information.

The operation, launched on May 7, targeted multiple terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after a deadly attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir last month.
