An encounter took place between the police and cow smugglers at Tawadu in Nuh district at around 5 am today. Three smugglers were injured after being shot in the leg. The injured are being treated at Nalhar Medical College. At the same time, a policeman was injured after being stabbed on the head.
CIA in-charge Mahendra Singh said that his team raided the hilly area of Pachgaon based on secret information. There, Tahir, Rahil, Shahzad and 3-4 unidentified persons were found slaughtering cows.
On seeing the police, the accused started firing with illegal weapons. After which the police also did cross firing, in which Tahir, Rahil and Shahzad were shot in the leg. In an attempt to escape, the accused attacked Constable Ajay by throwing a knife at his forehead, due to which he got injured.
The police have admitted the injured accused to the Government Medical College, Nalhar Nuh. 2 illegal country-made pistols, 3 cartridges, 7 empty cartridges, 3 knives, 2 axes, 1 dead and 2 live cows, 2 bikes, 2 mobiles and other items were recovered from the possession of the cow smugglers.
The Tawadu Sadar police station is busy in registering a case against the cow smugglers. At the same time, the police is also conducting continuous raids to arrest the absconding accused.
